Trial focuses on daughter's role in slaying of father, stepmother

December 2nd, 2008 12:00 am by Staff Report

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that it is her boyfriend who is standing trial this week, but 16-year-old slaying suspect Amanda Dawn McGhee proved the real mystery Monday.

Was she a master manipulator who filled 22-year-old Andrew Bryan Mann's head with bogus tales of abuse and drove him to kill her father and stepmother?

Was she a pathological liar who found a villainous bedfellow in Mann? Or was she twice the victim, first of an abuser masquerading as a doting father, and second of a cold-blooded killer parading as her white knight?

A jury has not yet been seated in Knox County Criminal Court to decide Mann's fate in the June 2007 shooting deaths of McGhee's father and stepmother inside their Jolly Lane home in Solway.

But already the teenager's role in the execution of father Terrance McGhee while he slept and the ambush slaying of stepmother Alisa McGhee hours later is taking center stage.
