Injury was narrowly averted in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 11-W Thursday morning, as on car was mere inches from hitting a utility pole head-on.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of 11-W and Seneker Lane, about 8:20 a.m. A car pulled into the path of another that was southbound on 11-W, striking its side.
The car that was struck went down an embankment -- skimming a utility pole with the right side -- before hitting a tree further down the hill and stopping.
Another southbound car then stopped to check on the drivers, only to be rear-ended by a vehicle that was behind it.
There were no injuries in the two crashes, while the driver who triggered the wreck has been charged with failure to yield.
