One existing industry and one new one are expanding in Sullivan County, with the new one bringing up to 80 new jobs and at least $38 million of investment in facilities and equipment.
The NETWORKS — Sullivan Partnership Friday announced in a news release Friday a afternoon the sale of 18 acres to an existing industry in Sullivan County.
That company will have 80-90 employees with room for future expansion. Construction of the new facility is scheduled for completion in December 2008.
The partnership Friday also announced the sale of a large, vacant industrial building to a Canadian-based manufacturer. NETWORKS recruitment of this company will add 70-80 new jobs in Sullivan County, and that company plans to invest $38 million for the purchase of the facility and equipment.
The release said NETWORKS is currently working with the two companies to finalize plans for groundbreaking and company announcements.
NETWORKS Sullivan Partnership is a non-profit economic development organization, serving all of Sullivan County, and the cities of Bluff City, Bristol, Tenn., and Kingsport. The partnership’s overall goal is to create value added jobs, expand and diversify the economic base, and generate increased tax revenues for local government.
