Sullivan indictments include woman who says boyfriend walked into knife

BLOUNTVILLE — A Sullivan County grand jury on Tuesday heard about a dozen cases on everything from thefts to domestic disputes. Among them:


• Linda S. Willis, 33, 1248 Marcum Ave., Kingsport, charged with aggravated domestic assault. She’s accused of stabbing her boyfriend after refusing to believe him when he denied her accusations about stealing her medication, but she told Kingsport Police Department Detective Jason Bellamy her boyfriend walked into the knife. She is free on $5,000 bond.


• John Michael Leonard, 23, 116 Hillview Road, Apt. 6, Bluff City, charged with reckless endangerment. He’s accused of setting curtains afire and locking himself inside his home while his wife and two children were there, forcing a family member to break out a window in an attempt to douse the flames. Leonard was initially sent to Bristol Regional Medical Center for a mental evaluation, then transported to the Sullivan County Detention Center following his release. He has since been released on $2,500 bond.


• Chadwick L. Brown, 34, 1009 Dale St., Kingsport, charged with theft over $1,000, possession of drug paraphernalia, and going armed. He’s accused of carrying a .380-caliber handgun on or about July 18, having a drug pipe and helping steal a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am.


•Donald Ray Calhoun, 45, 515 Woodvue St., Church Hill, charged with violation of the Habitual Motor Offender Act and driving under the influence, fifth offense.


• Austin P. Cain, 19, 4824 Landon Court, Kingsport, charged with two counts of burglary, one count each of theft under $500, and theft over $1,000. He’s accused of entering two women’s vehicles in February and stealing a CD player, equalizer and some CDs.


• Dennis Jackson Blevins, 25, 308 Bristol Caverns Highway, Bristol, Tenn., charged with theft over $1,000.


• Lucretia M. Mann, 32, 5137 Red Robin Road, Kingsport, charged with theft of property over $1,000.


• Audey Dean Glenn, 31, 2815 Broad St. Lot 15½, Bristol, Tenn., indicted on aggravated domestic assault and public intoxication charges.


• Crystal Dawn Federow, 29, 233 Taylor Drive, Piney Flats, charged with fraud to obtain hydrocodone.


• Kaneshia N. Horton, 23, 340 E. Carters Valley Road, Apt. 7, Kingsport, charged with possession of marijuana.


• Angela Marie Owens, 28, 509 Woodview Ave., Church Hill, charged with theft over $1,000, forgery and identity theft. She’s accused of using a woman’s name and her savings account, forging the woman’s signature, and taking more than $1,000 worth of her property on April 12.


• Rebekah Shiplett (or Shipplett), 31, 104 Carla St., Bristol, Tenn., charged with two counts of failure to appear. She’s accused of failing to appear in general sessions court in Bristol on a worthless check charge on Oct. 5, 2005, then failing to appear on the failure to appear charge.


• Charles Martin, 33, 1219 Bell Ridge Road, Kingsport, charged with theft over $1,000. He’s accused of stealing a Remington Powder Action gun, DeWalt grinder, and a socket set in a red box from Massey Electric around Aug. 24.


• Keith Conrad Armstrong, 32, 3305 Highway 11-W, Church Hill, charged with theft over $500. He’s accused of stealing over $500 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s in Kingsport on about June 25.
