BLOUNTVILLE — Allegiant Air launched its new air service from Tri-Cities Regional Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Wednesday.
The low-fare carrier is offering flights as low as $49 each way, but that price does not include a number of fees.
According to Allegiant, its prices do not include a segment tax or Sept. 11 security fee of up to $10.40 per segment. A seven- day advance purchase is required.
Also, a checked baggage fee will apply per bag, per segment. Travel purchased through the Allegiant Air Reservation Center will cost an additional $5 per segment. A convenience fee of $8.50 per traveler will be applied when booked at www.allegiantair.com or through an Allegiant Air Reservation Center.
Convenience fees do not apply to tickets purchased at an Allegiant Air airport ticket counter. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. Seats are limited and subject to availability. Restrictions apply, according to Allegiant.
Allegiant will utilize 130-seat, MD-80 series jet aircraft on the route.
