Johnson City man allegedly shoots shotgun at swimming juveniles

A Johnson City man is charged with aggravated assault after allegedly firing a shotgun at three juveniles -- a pellet striking one in the eyelid.

The three juveniles reported to police that they were swimming in the area of Watauga Road and Steam Plant Roads when a male approached and shot at them with a shotgun. One of the juveniles was struck in the eyelid by a pellet from the shotgun blast, but was not seriously injured.

Joshua Menge, 22, of 2204 E. Fairview Ave., is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond. He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, is scheduled for arraignment in Washington County General Sessions Court on Wednesday.
