HealthMax opens for business on Center Street

KINGSPORT - HealthMax, a new insurance agency, has announced the opening of its new office at 710 W. Center St. in Kingsport. The agency is owned and operated by Sam Ray, a 17-year resident of Kingsport. Ray is licensed in both life and health as well as property and casualty in Tennessee and surrounding states.


The new agency focuses on health insurance representing at least six major carriers. Both group and individual plans are offered, along with Medicare supplemental plans. All other life and health products are offered, including long-term care, life, annuities, cancer and burial insurance.

Anytime Fitness


PINEY FLATS - Anytime Fitness has signed a lease for a new club in Piney Flats, which according to a news release makes it the first 24-hour fitness club in the community.


Anytime Fitness is developing a 3,600-square-foot exercise facility. Construction has already begun and the club will be open for business near the end of August.


"Anytime Fitness offers a convenient and affordable exercise option for the area," Jon White and Ron Jones, club owners and operators, said in a written statement. "We believe our 24-hour fitness club will be a great addition to the Tri-Cities area."


At Anytime Fitness, members can work out any time of the day or night. Members use a security access key to enter the club, even when it is not staffed. Once inside, members have full use of state-of-the-art strength training and cardiovascular equipment. Anytime Fitness will also be offering massage therapy and personal trainers and membership reciprocity among its clubs.


Based in Hastings, Minn., the business began franchising in 2002 and today has more than 800 franchise locations. By the end of 2007, Anytime Fitness projects that at least 1,500 franchises will be sold in the U.S. and internationally. Within four years, the growth of the franchise is projected to hit the 2,500 mark.

Lake Pointe


BLOUNTVILLE - Lake Pointe, parent company of Lake Pointe Advertising and Lake Pointe Awards, has begun expansion of its corporate facilities in the Holston Industrial Park on Highway 75 near the Tri-Cities Regional Airport.


The addition of 4,500 square feet will house the company's embroidery production, and will provide needed warehouse space. Construction is scheduled for completion this fall.


Lake Pointe offers custom gifts, incentives and awards, embroidered corporate apparel, and promotional products to clients nationwide.


"This expansion will support Lake Pointe's commitment to our clients and our long-term plans for growth," said Larry Burris, Lake Pointe president. "This will give us the capacity to increase our corporate offerings and our gifts and awards line which has been a large part of our growth."
