Church Hill man facing drug charges

CHURCH HILL - A tipster contacted Church Hill police Friday evening about alleged marijuana smoke emanating from an apartment, which resulted in one man being arrested on drug charges.

Church Hill Detective Dustin Dean received a tip shortly before 6 p.m. Friday that marijuana smoke was allegedly originating from 114 W. Main Blvd. Apt. 3.

Officers Chip Whitaker and Will Mullins went to the apartment to investigate and allegedly found marijuana smoke coming from the apartment. The officers sought and received a signed consent to search the apartment.

Police Chief Mark Johnson said Sunday he was unable to release the quantities and weights of marijuana seized at this time.

"I can say that found inside the apartment was a sizable amount of marijuana, marijuana seeds, a marijuana pipe and rolling papers," Johnson said.

Also seized was $77 in cash. Eugene Sun Mitchell, 31, of that address was charged with possession of marijuana for resale, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
