One of 'America's Most Wanted' fugitives arrested in Scott Co. Va.

A fugitive on the run from Pennsylvania authorities the past four years, and featured on the America's Most Wanted television program this past Saturday, has been arrested in Scott County, Va.

Charles Lewis Walton, 35, last known address of Lancaster, Pa., was wanted for rape and several sexual assault charges against minors. According to Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman, Walton was captured late Monday night after authorities received a tip about his location. Newman says Walton was traveling back and forth from the Mendota area of Washington County to the upper end of Scott County.

"Walton has been on the run since 2003 but had been staying with family and friends since early spring of this year," Newman said. "At this time, we believe the family and friends were unaware of the very serious charges that had been placed against him."

The arrest was made by members of the Blue Ridge Fugitive Task Force, comprised of members from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals Service, along with FBI agents. K-9 units from both Washington and Scott Counties assisted.

Walton is held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield.
