Kingsport nurse charged with prescription fraud

A Gray woman has been charged with picking up fraudulent prescriptions while working as a nurse for a Kingsport doctor.

According to Johnson City Police, Leslie Henley, 39, 1008 Quality Circle No.18, Gray, was arrested March 29. She was attempting to pick up a fake hydrocodone prescription for herself at a Walgreen's Pharamcy in Johnson City.

An investigation revealed Henley, who was employed by Dr. Joni Sago's office on West Stone Drive as a nurse, had picked up an additional 12 fraudulent prescriptions from November 22 through March 14.

Henley is charged with twelve counts of obtaining narcotics by fraud. She is held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $30,000 bond. She is schedule to appear in the Washington County General Sessions Court on May 9, 2007.
