On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office will host an open house at the new Jail Extension Facility.

Families with children are encouraged to attend and get a first hand look at a jail prior to its opening. Sheriff Wayne Anderson and staff will also be on hand to answer questions and to explain this new concept for housing inmates.

The new jail annex is located just a few hundred yards from the existing jail and Sheriff’s Office. Turn off of Blountville By-Pass between the Sullivan County Justice Center and the Sullivan County Health and Education buildings and go to the end of Health and Education Road. Turn right onto Emergency Road and make the first left. Signs will be posted to help locate the New Jail Extension.
