April 18th, 2007 12:00 am by Staff Reports

A third man involved in an April 11 fracas in Lee County has been charged with malicious wounding, while two others charged in the brawl have filed misdemeanor assault and battery charges against the victim.

Dennis Wayne Ely, 42, Route 1, Box 274, Keokee, was arrested Sunday and is being held without bail on a malicious wounding charge for his role in the fight.

Rebecca Rayanne Carroll, 30, Route 3, Box, 951, Jonesville, and Roger Hall, 42, P.O. Box 148, Ben Hur, were arraigned Monday in Lee County General District Court on identical charges.

A warrant obtained by Fredrick McDonald, 33, Route 1, Box 152 Dryden, alleges that Carroll, Hall, Ely and Jackie Crusenberry attacked him April 11.

The attack left McDonald with head and other injuries that required stitches and other medical attention. Meanwhile, Carroll and Hall have obtained misdemeanor assault and battery warrants against McDonald.

McDonald turned himself in and is free under a $2,000 secured bond. Hearings for the entire group have been scheduled for May 7 in district court.
