Holliston CEO vows legal action over press release reporting company's bankruptcy, suspects disgruntled employee

ICG Holliston Corp. CEO Lawrence Maston told the Times-News Tuesday night that a press release issued about 9 p.m. referring to a pending bankruptcy filing by the company in April is a phony that was probably sent by a disgruntled employee.

ICG Holliston employs about 300 people at its Church Hill plant.

The Times-News contacted Maston immediately upon receiving the e-mailed press release Tuesday night.

Maston said he intends to seek legal action against the person responsible for the e-mail.

"It's a phony e-mail address," Maston said of the originator of the press release. "We want to get a warrant for yahoo.com and the server that this is coming from so we can get disclosure on who this is coming from.

We are in the middle of a transaction that will refinance the company, and that e-mail is just extraordinarily harmful. There's no truth to it at all. This person has sent several e-mails of this nature, and this is the worst of them."
