Armed Forces Day.


Keep Kingsport Beautiful and KNETIC will hold Downtown Cleanup Day from 7 to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m. as part of the Great American Cleanup. Volunteer sign-in will be at the corner of Market and Broad streets. Call 384-4976 or 392-8814.


USSSA Baseball Super National Invitational Tournament will continue at 9 a.m. with games at Eastman Recreation Park, Hunter Wright Stadium and Weyerhaeuser Park in Kingsport. Admission is $7.


Boone Lake Cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. with volunteers passing out TVA trash bags and gloves at the Bluff City 11-E Bridge, Davis Boat Dock, Hidden Cove, Jay's Boat Dock, Rockingham Dock, Sonny's Marina, TWRA/11-E Devault Bridge, Lakeview Marina, and Cancun on Boone. Trash collected must be returned to these locations by 3 p.m. Call 323-4653 or 283-5827.


Sullivan North Naval Junior ROTC Booster Club will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the basement of Vermont United Methodist Church, Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport.


Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 979 will hold an Armed Forces Recognition Day, saluting the armed forces, with a program at 10 a.m. and displays through 2 p.m., weather permitting, at Memorial Park, Fort Henry Drive, across from J. Fred Johnson Stadium.


Dobyns-Bennett High School will hold its 2006-07 graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. in J. Fred Johnson Stadium.


Journey's End No Kill Animal Society to hold a Super Kitten and Adult Cat Adoption Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at PetSmart, Eastman Road, Kingsport. The Kingsport Animal Shelter will have animals at the event from 1 to 4 p.m.


Mountain Home National Cemetery at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center will participate in the nationwide event "EchoTaps" at 11 a.m. at the cemetery.
