Gibbs hasn't heard from Taylor or Springs
NFL may expand to 17th game played outside U.S.
Although not driving, McNair charged in DUI case
• NASHVILLE - Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair was charged with driving under the influence Thursday even though police said his brother-in-law was behind the wheel of the pickup registered to the former Tennessee Titan.
Although McNair was just a passenger, he was charged with a misdemeanor under a Tennessee law that prohibits a vehicle owner from letting it be driven by someone who is inebriated.
• ASHBURN, Va. - Joe Gibbs said Thursday he has had "no contact" with Sean Taylor and that the team has "lost contact" with Shawn Springs, leaving the Washington Redskins coach in limbo as to the status of the two starters missing from the team's spring practices.
The two defensive backs were the only no-shows when the team reconvened Tuesday after a longer-than-usual offseason break.
• NEW YORK - Although talks are extremely preliminary, the NFL is investigating adding a 17th regular-season game and playing it outside the United States.
The extra game would take the place of one in the preseason.
