MOUNTAIN CITY - Will Leonard's bases-clearing double in the top of the 11th inning finally broke open a wild non-conference game, helping Sullivan Central grab a 9-4 marathon road win against Johnson County on Tuesday.
The Cougars led 4-0 going into the bottom of the sixth, but the Longhorns scored twice in the sixth and twice more in the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
Leonard's double sparked a five-run 11th, breaking open the game for Central (17-15). He went 4-for-6 with two doubles and five RBIs for the Cougars while Zach Nussman, Cody Hyden and Gary McMurray all had two hits apiece.
ELIZABETHTON - Jordan Bowser went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Trailblazers past Elizabethton.
The Cyclones built a 4-1 lead before Boone (20-9) got its offense on track over the final two frames. Cody Powell went 3-for-3 and Nick Caldwell added an RBI for the 'Blazers.
Drew Hyder was 3-for-4 with two doubles for Elizabethton.
ST. PAUL - The Titans scored three runs on a throwing error in the second inning to take control of the game and roll to a Cumberland District win over the Deacons.
Kris Jordan finished with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Twin Springs offense. Mark Dockery added an RBI and Gavin Meade scored two runs.
Meade also scattered three hits over seven innings to pick up the victory on the mound.
Zak Hicks (1-3) took the loss for St. Paul (9-7, 5-2), while Brandon Phillips had two hits and scored a run
EWING - The Blue Devils put five runs on the board in the top of the first and made them stand up on their way to a Cumberland victory over the Pioneers.
Ryan Phillips and Dylan Harding led the way for Castlewood with two hits and a pair of RBIs each.
Zach Hensley had three hits for Thomas Walker (6-8, 4-3) while Scottie Hunley added a pair of hits and two RBIs.
NORTON - The Raiders put together a solid performance to easily dispatch the Wildcats in Lonesome Pine District play.
Michael Hensley turned in a two hit, three-RBI performance to lead J.I. Burton (11-3, 7-3), while Martinez Miles added two hits and a pair of RBIs.
Pat Begley (7-2) scattered four hits in seven innings for the win.
Caleb Stanley led the way for Pound with two hits.
WISE - The Indians scored at least one run in every inning to blow past the Green Wave in LPD action.
Zak Clifton smacked a grand slam for his only hit of the game for J.J. Kelly (11-4, 9-1). Griffin Kopp finished the contest with three hits and Justin Wilson added a pair of doubles.
Billy Stanley paced Clintwood (4-11, 3-9) with two hits and a homer, while Travis Blevins and Matt Mooney finished with two hits apiece.
