KINGSPORT - AccuForce Staffing Services recently named Pam Cox as vice president, corporate communications/public relations.


In her new position, Cox is responsible for the company's internal and external communications, advertising and public relations activities corporate-wide.


"As AccuForce continues to grow regionally and nationally, we felt it was important to create a new department to handle our growing communication and public relation needs," said Larry Nunley, CEO, AccuForce Staffing Support Services.


Prior to joining AccuForce, Cox was director of Keep Kingsport Beautiful. She has held communications positions with the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce, The Tombras Group and Akins Tombras Public Relations Agency. In addition, she worked as a reporter for the Bristol Herald Courier, Knoxville News-Sentinel and Bristol Broadcasting. She is an award-winning speechwriter and journalist.

KINGSPORT - Pam Shapiro and Ben Mallicote have joined their law practices to form the law office of Mallicote & Shapiro.


In addition to his law practice, Mallicote serves on the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen, and is the youngest person ever elected to that post.

KINGSPORT - Allen J. Smith, principal broker of Coldwell Banker Marketplace Realtors, has earned the 2006 Office Manager's Award for Excellence.


Smith was one of only 287 affiliate office managers throughout North America in the Coldwell Banker system to fulfill the requirements for the award. He was recognized at Coldwell Banker International Business Conference March 5 through 8 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The annual event brought more than 6,000 Coldwell Banker sales associates, brokers, managers and employees together for a professional development program and awards ceremony.
