Washington County Commission work release committee will meet at 9 a.m. at the Detention Center, Jonesborough.


Downtown Kingsport Optimist Club will meet at noon at Americourt Hotel, off Stone Drive, Kingsport, for its monthly board of directors meeting.


Wellmont Health System's Marsh Regional Blood Center will hold a public blood drive from 1 to 4 p.m. at Colonial Heights Pharmacy, Kingsport. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in good health. Call 224-5888.

Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency will hold commodity distributions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium, 1550 Fort Henry Drive; at the National Guard Armory, 208 Frontage Road, Rogersville; at the Hancock Recreation Department, Harrison Street, Sneedville; at the Keystone Recreation Center, Pardee Street, Johnson City; and at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Florida Ave., Bristol, Tenn. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to Tennessee residents living in income-eligible households.
