GRAY - Daniel Boone pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and eked out a 6-5 Big 9 Conference baseball victory over Sullivan East on Tuesday.
Josh Aldridge picked up the game-winning RBI for the Trailblazers (10-5, 5-4), while Dustin Ford finished with a run scored and an RBI.
Chris Colley led Sullivan East offensively with two hits.
BLOUNTVILLE - Justin Presnell and Cody Hyden had two hits apiece as the Cougars knocked off the Vikings in Big 9 action.
Carl Roberts added a two-RBI double and scored two runs for Central (12-10, 5-6).
Zach Nussman went the distance for the Cougars, striking out six and scattering four hits.
ERWIN - The Golden Raiders had 12 hits but failed to string them together in a timely fashion until the seventh inning, and the Blue Devils prevailed in Watauga Conference action.
Brandon Morelock went 3-for-4 with an RBI for North (8-8, 5-5), which scored four runs in the seventh before Unicoi late reliever Ethan Williams closed the door. Greg Overbay, Kory Morgan and Brandon Black added two hits apiece for the Golden Raiders.
KINGSPORT - Tyler Joyce pitched a complete-game four-hitter as the Indians upended the Falcons in Big 9 Conference action.
Joyce (7-1) had nine strikeouts for D-B (19-4, 11-0).
Jeremy Crawford went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Indians, while the Trent brothers, Derek and Darin, were both 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Dylan Christian finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Volunteer (7-10, 2-9) .
KINGSPORT - Matt Rice and Zach Howell both homered in the sixth inning as the Hilltoppers crushed the Rebels in Big 9 action.
Rice, who finished with three hits and five RBIs, stroked a grand slam. Howell, who finished 4-for-4 with five RBIs, hit a three run shot.
Seth Pearson had a grand slam in the third inning for the Rebels.
CASTLEWOOD - Andrew Kennedy went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Blue Devils past the Pioneers in Cumberland District play.
Dillian Harding added an RBI double for Castlewood (6-2, 2-0). Kennedy (3-0) earned the win after coming on in relief in the fourth, and Justin McMillian picked up his first save.
NICKELSVILLE - Nathan Hicks went 3-for-4 with a double as the Deacons edged the Titans in Cumberland District action.
Zack Hicks went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for St. Paul. Alan Hicks struck out seven as he put in six innings for the victory.
Gavin Meade (2-3) fanned eight for Twin Springs (4-4, 0-2), which got a two-run homer from David Coleman and a solo shot from Michael Salyers. Josh Vermillion collected a pair of doubles for the Titans.
NORTON - Ethan Stewart struck out eight and gave up no walks as the Raiders shut out the visiting Bulldogs in a five-inning Lonesome Pine District matchup.
Martinez Miles had two doubles, while Stewart, Will Godsey, Pat Begley and Will Hamilton had two hits each, including a double apiece, for Burton (8-1, 4-1).
GATE CITY - The Blue Devils used tough defense and timely hitting to come away with an LPD win over the Green Wave.
John Pope went 2-for-3, including a double, with three RBIs to lead Gate City (3-2, 3-2). Buck Eldridge also had two hits while recording two RBIs. Jordan Estepp added a triple during his two-hit day while Joseph Riner also finished with a pair of hits.
BIG STONE GAP - Freshman left-hander Lucas Fannon struck out six in six innings as the Vikings dealt an LPD shutout to visiting Pound.
Delmas Lawson stroked a solo shot for Powell Valley in the first inning.
COEBURN - Hannah Light scored the winning run and threw her second no-hitter of the season as the Lady Blue Knights confounded the Lady Indians in LPD action.
Light got on base with a leadoff single in the first inning. She stole second and made it to third when Haley Skeen struck out but bolted for first on a passed ball. Skeen was safe at first, and Light rounded the bend and beat the subsequent throw to the plate to lift Coeburn (8-1, 3-1).
Light (8-1) struck out 12 and walked two - the only Kelly baserunners allowed.
Kalen Collin took the loss despite striking out 10 and tossing a two-hitter for Kelly (2-4, 2-3).
ST. PAUL - The Lady Deacons scored 13 runs between the third and fourth innings to win over the Lady Blue Devils in Cumberland District action.
St. Paul's Lindsey Dickinson went 2-for-3 - including a base-clearing double - with five RBIs. Lindsey Hall went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Haley Kiser knocked in two runs for St. Paul (5-7, 1-1).
Brooke Perrigan had a triple for Castlewood.
POUND - Melissa Taylor drove home Kayla Balthis in the bottom of the fifth to give the Lady Wildcats a close win over the Lady Vikings.
Taylor led Pound (5-3, 1-1 LPD) with two hits and the game-winning RBI. Sarah Bentley (2-1) went the distance on the mound and struck out 10 batters without giving up a walk to take the win.
Marie Chandler finished with 13 strikeouts in a strong effort for Powell Valley. Chabrae Roark and Rachel Thompson finished with two hits each, while Holly Gilliam tacked on a solo home run.
NICKELSVILLE - Courtney Lell struck out 11 batters for her second no-hitter in as many games and the Lady Titans cruised to a Cumberland win over the Lady Rebels.
Taneisha Wallen collected a double, a triple and three RBIs to pace Twin Springs (2-2, 2-0) offensively. Aneshia Stidham finished with three hits and a pair of RBIs, while Mikyla Salyers tripled in her two-hit day.
CHURCH HILL - Paige Copas struck out seven as she tossed a two-hitter for a Big 9 win over the visiting Lady Trailblazers.
April Byington went 3-for-4, including a triple, with four RBIs for Volunteer (8-10, 7-4). Lauren Kirk was 3-for-4 and Caitlin Smith was 2-for-4.
KINGSPORT - The Lady Rebels held off a late comeback attempt by the Lady Cougars to take the Big 9 win.
Samantha Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 to lead Sullivan South at the plate, while Heather Dykes chipped in two hits and a stolen base.
Tesla Robinson took the pitching win for South.
Calgary Collins paced Central (3-11, 1-9) with two hits while Jessica Samples scored two runs and stole two bases.
KINGSPORT - Tabby Drakes' home run staked the Lady Raiders to a 2-0 first-inning lead, but the Lady Warriors (5-9, 3-4 Watauga) took over from there.
Megan Dixon led Sullivan North (2-9, 0-6) with two hits.
