KINGSPORT - A 19-year-old Kingsport woman is in jail after an early morning burglary at a local pharmacy.
According to the Kingsport Police Department, about 2 a.m. Monday a witness heard glass break in the area of Berry's Pharmacy, 1717 Fort Henry Drive. The alert citizen then watched a woman climb inside the pharmacy. Minutes later she was seen exiting the building and leaving the scene in a four-door, gold-colored car.
Within an hour, police had located a gold Nissan Altima parked outside a residence within a quarter-mile of Berry's Pharmacy. Regina Graham, 3828 Eastline Drive, No. 71, was also at the location. Officer David Johnson saw sufficient evidence in the car to conduct a search and located a large amount of narcotics within the vehicle, police said.
The items, which police said were identified as being stolen from the pharmacy, were valued at more than $10,000.
Police said Graham was also involved in a second burglary at Nick's Restaurant, 1916 Sherwood Road.
Graham is charged with two counts of burglary, theft over $10,000, possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, and two counts of Schedule IV drugs for resale. She is being held on a $53,000 bond.
