ABINGDON - Weekend Adult Lifetime Learning (WALL) is a non-credit program for adults of all ages offered through the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon.
The spring term begins April 14 and runs through May 19.
On April 14, classes offered are Introduction to Digital Photography & Composition; DIY Minor Home Repairs; Converting 35mm Slides to Digital Image (also meets on April 21); and Growing Great Vegetables. All of these courses will meet from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Only one class, Learning to Waltz, will be offered on April 20, from 7 until 9 p.m.
On April 21, classes to be offered are Converting 35mm Slides to Digital Image, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. (a continuation of April 14 class); Genealogy Research Using the Computer, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Reflexology, 9:30 until 11 a.m.; and A Taste of the Appalachian Trail, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
On April 27 beginners Cha-Cha and Rumba will be offered from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
On April 28, classes to be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. are Introduction to Investing; Landscaping for Backyard Wildlife; Creating a Web Page; and Bread Making Fun. A Walk along the Ridge will be offered from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
May 5 classes to be offered are Get Into the Swing of Things - Improving Your Golf Game; Rock Climbing; International Desserts; and Preserve Your Memories: A Scrap Booking Workshop. All of these classes will meet from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Classes on May 12 are Introduction to Tai Chi; Homemade Tamales; Taking the Trauma out of Home Buying; and Philosophy .001. All of these classes will meet from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Classes to be offered on May 19 are Get Fit, Don't Sit; Strength Training for Women; Photo Enhancements; and Security Analysis Techniques. All of these classes will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
