BRISTOL, Tenn. - Investigators with the Bristol Tennessee Police Department have not located the videotape that allegedly depicts a city couple having sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to testimony at their preliminary hearing in Bristol General Sessions Court on Tuesday.

But Judge Klyne Lauderback heard officers testify that not only did the teenage victim tell them it happened, but also the couple accused of the crime.

Frederick James DeMay, 23, aka Rick DeMay, and his wife Leslie DeMay, 21, both of 110 Basham Hill Road, Bristol, are each jailed on a $50,000 bond on charges of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and four counts of statutory rape.

Detective Aaron Blevins testified that the allegations became known a week ago when an adult and a juvenile came forward to report they had seen the alleged video last summer.

"They were at the residence that particular night. The victim went to the bedroom (with the DeMays) and was there about 30 minutes," Blevins testified.

"Then Mr. DeMay took them to the bedroom and showed them the video of what had just happened," Blevins said.

Blevins testified that he obtained a search warrant to seize items from the DeMays' home and received written and verbal consent from Rick DeMay to search his van.

Blevins said he seized approximately 200 videotapes, DVDs, DVD-Rs and camcorder tapes.

"We've got several videotapes, but I haven't been able to locate" the alleged sex recording, he testified.

After binding the cases over to a Sullivan County grand jury, Lauderback denied requests to reduce the couple's bonds.

They will appear in criminal court on the charges next month.
