Hawkins County grand jury hands down indictments

ROGERSVILLE - The Hawkins County grand jury returned numerous drug indictments Thursday including two couples who were nabbed at a residence near Rogersville with a large quantity of meth, cash and guns.


Thanks to a tip from a confidential informant, on March 8, 2006, the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit conducted a raid at 106 Prices Grove Road with the assistance of K-9 Driggon.


Arrested at the residence were Charles Eric Bishop, 44, and Teresa Jane Reed, 45, who both reside there. Also at the residence at the time of the raid was Danny Ray Killion, 25, and Jessica Suzette Smith, 24, both of 6437 Beacon Light Road, Morristown.


According to the indictments, they were each accused of being in possession of 26.2 grams of meth. Investigators said the meth was packaged in 65 individual baggies.


Also allegedly seized was a bottle of various strength hydrocodone, $945 in cash, five sets of scales, several hundred of the small baggies commonly used to package meth for resale, and several long guns.


Investigators said the residence was protected by a surveillance system with two cameras and two monitors on either end of the house, and five police scanners on at all times.


There was also a 7-year-old child at the residence at the time of the raid.


All four were indicted on identical charges including possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are kept, and possession of a prohibited weapon. All but Smith were additionally indicted on one count of possession of dihydrocodeinone with intent to deliver.


Other drug-related indictments handed down Thursday by the grand jury included:


• Charles E. Hurd, 26, 5744 Route 66-N, Rogersville, charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth with intent to deliver, two counts of promotion of meth manufacturing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Chad Anthony Wilhelm, 23, no address given, charged with possession of meth for resale, possession of alprazolam for resale, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Jeremy Chad Wilder, 28, 123 Roberts Road, Rogersville, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, simple possession of oxycodone, maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are kept, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Henrietta Marie Hall, 21, 123 Roberts Road, Rogersville, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, simple possession of oxycodone, maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are kept, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Jerry Lynn Gilliam, 39, 175 Flora Ferry Road, Rogersville, charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft under $500.


• Steven Richard Pishner, 38, 3862 Rocky Hill Lane, Kingsport, charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Timothy Eugene McDaniel, 43, 505½ Clay St., Rogersville, charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• Bobby David Lamb, 41, no address given, charged with simple possession of dihydrocodeinone and possession of drug paraphernalia.


• James Franklin Rogers, 45, 145 Davis Drive, Rogersville, charged with manufacturing marijuana.
