CASTLEWOOD - The top-ranked Castlewood boys basketball team played up to its lofty billing in a 65-40 drubbing of Cumberland District rival Thomas Walker on Monday night.


Brad McReynolds and Chris Smith each dropped 16 points for the Blue Devils (18-1, 8-0), who held off second-ranked and undefeated George Wythe by a two-point margin in the latest Associated Press Group A poll. Drew Justice added 10 points for Castlewood, which led Thomas Walker 40-18 at halftime.


Justin Helton's 10 points paced the Pioneers (12-8, 3-6).

KINGSPORT - Micah McFadden poured in 27 points to lead the Wildcats to a solid win over the Seahawks.


David Lambert and Stephen Strickland added 10 apiece for the Kingsport Home School team.


Collin Addington and Carter Parker combined to score 34 points - splitting the tally equally - for Cedar View (10-17). Keith Minnich finished with 10.

JOHNSON CITY - Caitin Baciu lit up Providence for 32 points in leading Veritas to the easy victory.


Paulius Skema added 21 points and Jonah Baize 13 for the Warriors (18-9).


Elijah Herington and Derrick Hudson scored 14 apiece for Providence (10-14).

DANDRIDGE - The Mountaineers relied on the scoring of Mark Wynegar and Hunter Stine to defeat the Crusaders on the road.


Wynegar paced Mountain Empire (12-6) with 19 points, while Stine was right behind with 18. Andrew King added 14.


Covenant Christian got a game-high 25 points from Jamie Foster. Micah Mills pumped in 19 while Jordan Ottinger scored 10 for the home team.

CASTLEWOOD - The Lady Blue Devils shut down the Lady Pioneers at the start of the second half to come away with the Cumberland District win.


Kayla Gordon of Castlewood (13-6, 6-2) topped all scorers with 29 points. Nicole Counts chipped in 12 and Kelsey Addington finished with 10 for the Lady Blue Devils.


Tiffany Gibson scored 12 for Thomas Walker, the only Lady Pioneer in double figures.

DANDRIDGE - Megan Bickmore was a force for Mountain Empire Baptist, shooting 16-for-26 from the field on her way to 39 points.


She finished 2-for-5 from the free throw line and hit the game's lone 3-pointer.


Joanie Cleeland paced Covenant with 21 points while teammate Bekah Fields added 13.

KINGSPORT - The Lady Eagles raced to a 31-10 lead at the half in claiming the non-conference victory, their 17th win of the season.


Tori Fugate and Charity Vannoy paced Cedar View with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while Elizabeth Vannoy added 11.


The Home Schoolers' Jordan Graham was the game's high scorer with 17.

JOHNSON CITY - The Lady Warriors built an early lead behind three players in double digits and handed the Lady Knights a sound defeat.


Jamie Jordan and Milda Sakalyte finished 19 points each for Veritas Christian. Allie Russell scored 13 in the contest.


Lindsey Reynolds paced Providence Academy (9-11) with 11 points.
