JONESBOROUGH - Four juveniles have been charged with burglary and vandalism after allegedly breaking into David Crockett High School last Friday night.
Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the school earlier this week when a teacher discovered a significant amount of vandalism had been done to the school. Further investigation showed that a laptop computer, a digital video camera and a small amount of cash had been taken from the school as well.
During the burglary, the juveniles caused nearly $4,000 in damage to the school, authorities said.
Deputies charged the four juveniles after they were identified on school surveillance cameras.
The laptop computer and camera, valued at a total of $1,600, were recovered from the home of one of the youths.
The four juveniles were being held in the Johnson City Juvenile Detention Center, each on $5,000 bond.
All are scheduled to appear in juvenile court on Monday.
