KINGSPORT - A juvenile and 10 adults were arrested by vice officers Wednesday night at the end of a months-long investigation into drug activity, according to the Kingsport Police Department.
KPD Vice Sgt. Tim Crawford said the investigation began several months ago after the department received complaints about possible drug activity at 309 Amber St.
During the investigation, officers gathered evidence that allowed them to obtain a search warrant, and that search warrant was executed Wednesday.
"There were some undercover operations, and we were able to obtain the search warrant. It appeared to be what we describe as a smoke house," Crawford said.
"We found paraphernalia all over the house that indicated constant and long-term use of cocaine," he said.
Officers seized a total of 6 grams of cocaine, a number of unidentified pills, crack pipes, scales and syringes, according to Crawford.
Two of the adults arrested live at the residence - Rebecca House, 44, and her son, Robert House, 20.
Both are charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used, sold or stored and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rebecca House is also charged with simple possession of a controlled substance.
The others arrested and their charges are:
•Derek Reed, 33, 235 Thomas St., Kingsport, possession of drug paraphernalia.
•Carol Collette, 47, Route 4 Hiltons Highway, Gate City, Va., possession of drug paraphernalia.
