KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Fire Department responded to a residential blaze Monday morning that damaged nearly 50 percent of the structure.
Three residents were home and able to safely exit the building.
According to Fire Department Senior Capt. Dave Chase, Central Dispatch received a call reporting the fire about 10:30 a.m. When the fire department arrived to 2105 Beechnut Drive, the home was about 35 percent involved.
Firefighters spent about an hour extinguishing the flames, which ultimately destroyed about half the home.
Chase said the fire is under investigation. A cause has yet to be determined.
