Time to send a warning shot

Published October 29th, 2009 | 10 Comments

For the first time in history, Congress voted for no increase in Social Security payments. In fact, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may be no increase for the next three years. However, the per-person monthly Medicare insurance premium will increase from $96.40 in 2009, to $104.20 in 2010, and $120.20 in 2011. And to top it off, Congress voted itself a pay raise.

It’s time to fire a warning shot over the bow of the USS Obama. Virginians, on Election Day, Nov. 3, vote for Republican Bob McDonnell for governor. And if Congress and the Obama administration don’t get the hint, we will send Rick Boucher into retirement next fall. It is time the politicians realized they work for we the people.

Cry me a river. I wanna know who's manipulating the poll on the front page showing that 60% out of nearly a thousand "votes" support the current two-party system.

The reason there was no SSN cost of living increase is because the government is claiming their data shows there has been no inflation lately. Food prices, gas prices, everything across the board according to them, are not increasing.

No one voted not to give Social Security a raise !!!!!!
The increases are tied to the Interest Rates !!!

Lets look at money wasted here at home !

How many of your local Governments are supporting Churchs with gifts of Taxpayers Money ?
Reading the Guidestar tax filing of non profits shows the Bristol Raceway Ministrys get $77,000.00 from the government.

3 races a year. How much are you paying for the preachers at Racetrack Campgrounds ????

The Defense Bill....just passed has alot tacked on to it. For instance, there are monies provided to pay the taliban members to come over the the American side in Afganistan. Also, there is a no hate speech "tack on" it includes transgender, homosexuals, religions like islam....OH but this is really stiffliing FREEDOM of SPEECH and calling it hate speech. Just because two people disagree doesn't means that the hate each other. Ask any married couple that has been married for more than a month. People disagree about issues and religion and cultural issues ALL the time. Now they are going to call it hate speech. The only people and religion that can be SLAMMED is Christianity and Jesus himself. It's this small print at the end of the Obama administration bills that "get us".

Yippie!!! I am jumping for joy because I get to help pay for the idiots in DC that dont give a **** about this country. Screw them idiots in DC. Instead of fussing about who is better and fighting with each other and setting in front of the TV watching the trash on the news channels get out do something productive once in your life. Go spend time with your kids instead of watching a bunch of truck stop (male and female) hookers running this country.

Screw Congress, what do they get paid now? Have they topped the Million mark yet? Who ever thought giving them the power to allow themselves to vote on their own pay raises was a GOOD idea?!?!?!

Get with the program, old timer.

There is no COLA because there is no inflation. In fact, we have been in deflation since the financial crisis in the sunset of the Bush presidency.

Your WWII-style commentary was golden, tho... lol

Yes, your medical insurance costs probably will go up, just like the rest of us. Join the party. What have you done towards achieving healthcare reform?

Why is this everybody else's burden, and not yours. You just want to sit on your ass and rake in raises.

Hows that for a shot across your bow?

Absolutely love your way of thinking. I will be voting McDonnell and for whoever runs against Boucher. Boucher is nothing but a "yes man" for Obama.
