Two friends celebrating one of their birthdays got into an argument and fight when one man tried to get the other to quiet down Tuesday morning, said Johnson City police.
Officers responded to 4006 E. Englewood Blvd. about 8:20 a.m. after James Hall, 39, of Chickasaw Street, Johnson City, reported he was assaulted with some type of club.
The incident apparently started after Hall and Leslie Earp, 40, of the Englewood address, had been drinking at Earp’s home to celebrate Earp’s birthday.
Police said Hall had a severe laceration on the left side of his face, a busted lip, and several bumps and bruises on his forehead. Earp was charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled for a hearing in Washington County General Sessions Court on Thursday.
