Johnson City motorcyclist accused of displaying firearm in possible road rage incident

Published February 6th, 2008 | 1 Comments

A Johnson City man is accused of showing off a gun to passersby and popping a wheelie in Elizabethton.

Joshua Coy Reece, 23, 142 Old Milligan Hwy., Apt. 9, was charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, no motorcycle license and other driving offenses, according to an Elizabethton Police Department release issued Wednesday.

Witnesses told police Reece displayed a firearm while riding his motorcycle in a reckless manner. No weapons were found in his possession when he came to a stop in the Sheriff's Department parking lot off Main Street.

An investigation into whether or not Reece had a firearm in his possession remains under investigation, according to Det. Will Johnson.

Well, he must be a great rider. I've been riding for thirty- three years and I can't pop a wheelie with one hand. I've also been riding here. People around here have no respect for motorcycles. Just about every time I'm out on mine someone pulls out in frount of me, or cuts me off, or throse something out their window will I'm behind them. So I say more power to him. Maybe the guy in the car will pay more attention to motorcycles next time.
