King Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Tuesday it terminated its patent infringement lawsuit against CorePharma LLC over the muscle relaxant drug Skelaxin, and granted CorePharma certain generic rights under a product agreement.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bristol, Tenn.-based King said it signed a metaxalone 800 mg product agreement on Jan. 2 granting CorePharma certain rights for an authorized generic version of the company's 800 mg Skelaxin product.
King also said ending the lawsuit terminated all of Cores counterclaims without prejudice.
Core, Eon Labs Inc. and Mutual Pharmaceutical Co. Inc. had each filed with the Food and Drug Administration seeking to market a generic version of Skelaxin 400 mg tablets. Additionally, Eon Labs had sought permission to market a generic 800mg version.
