I-26 crash victim ID'd; police aren't sure who was driving

Published August 16th, 2007 | 0 Comments

Kingsport police are looking for an occupant that fled from a single-vehicle crash on I-26 that killed a 23-year-old Virginia man.

Cody Bledsoe, of Gate City, was ejected from a 1999 Ford Mustang that rolled at least once and landed on its top after the driver, travelling at a high rate of speed, lost control near the Meadowview Parkway Exit, according to reports.

Police say the second occupant of the car fled before they arrived on the scene.

Police say Officer Billy Boyd has spoken with the second occupant. More information is expected tomorrow.
