But Santa’s not the only show in town when it comes to Christmas fun that day.
There are special events going on all day long and well into the night, including the Historic Christmas Tour of Homes, which is covered extensively in a separate article.
The festivities begin with the annual Breakfast with Santa at the Hale Springs Inn, which has seatings at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon.
As of Friday, all three seatings are sold out, but the inn is accepting names for a waiting list, and there are also Breakfast with Santa events on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. and noon. For more information, call the Hale Springs Inn at (423) 272-5171.

Rogersville Christmas Parade
Lineup for the event begins at 2:30 that afternoon at Rogersville Middle School, and the parade starts at 4.
The theme this year is “Christmas Memories” and float entry applications can be obtained by calling (423) 272-2186.
No live animals are allowed on Main Street during the parade or other special events.
The Elf Shop
The Elf Shop at The Loft Yoga Studio, 207 E. Main St., will be open from 2-4 p.m. and will feature a Christmas shopping experience for children to purchase gifts from $1-$5, with wrapping included.
Youngsters can also write a letter to Santa or drop off their letter in the special North Pole mail box. With return address included, Santa will send a reply.

Christmas Tree Lighting
The annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree on the front lawn of the Hawkins County Courthouse will be at 5:30 p.m., shortly after the end of the parade.
Live entertainment will be provided by Hawkins Elementary School students.
RAC Holiday Market
The Rogersville Arts Council Holiday Market will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Occasions on the Square downtown.
More than 30 artists, craftsmen and vendors from across the region will be in attendance, offering unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas gift options and/or holiday decorations and decor.
There will also be children’s activities, door prizes and more.

Parade of Trees
The US Bank’s annual Parade of Trees Christmas tree decorating display begins during an open house from 3-5 p.m. at 107 E. Main St.
Light refreshments will be served. This year’s theme is “Christmas Memories.” Trees will be on display from Dec. 4-21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
