KINGSPORT — Are you a recent graduate looking for your first job, or are you looking to change careers?

If so, South Central Kingsport Community Development Inc. invites you to its career exploration and employment event Thursday. Representatives from local employers and higher education institutions will be on hand to network and answer questions.

“We have done this in the past, but we’re trying to revive some of the old activities we used to do,” said Kenneth Calvert of South Central Kingsport. “We just feel this is a good time to outreach into the community with this.”

When and where: The event will be held Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Kingsport Housing and Redevelopment Authority’s Fresh Start Foundation computer lab, which is located in the V.O. Dobbins Complex on Louis Street.

Who should attend: Calvert said the event is designed for recent high school and college graduates and anyone looking for employment, switching careers or re-entering the workforce. Those who need help creating a resume or preparing for a job interview are also welcome.

What to expect: Representatives from Eastman, the Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing, adult education programs and other agencies will be available to share information about job openings, training and employment certifications.

For more information: Contact Linda Calvert at (423) 677-9777.
