KINGSPORT — For the 10th consecutive year, Billy Wayne Ministries is inviting teenagers to its area-wide Purity Rally at LampLight Theatre.

The one-day conference will be held Saturday, Feb. 10 from noon to 4 p.m. This year’s theme is “Pure Heart=Pure Life.”

Event details

Whether your teenager has been through bad relationships in the past or is embarking on his or her first romance, Purity Rally 2018 will “communicate the Biblical perspective on sexual purity, while offering hope to those jaded by sexual sin,” according to a press release.

Hosted by Christian speaker and vocal artist, Billy Wayne Arrington, the rally will include praise and worship segments, gender break-out sessions and a purity ring ceremony for those who wish to participate.

It will also allow teens to anonymously ask questions related to sexuality that they might have been afraid to ask in church, at school or in other settings.

“We want to give right answers and we want to be practical,” Arrington said. “We want to let people know we’re not here to judge you. We want to be able to restore you and give you some good principles to live by.”

There is no cost to participate in the rally, but a love offering will be taken. Arrington said on average 300 teens from across the region attend each year, and preregistration is not required.

A limited supply of purity rings and rally T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. They can also be ordered online at www.lamplighttheatre.com.
