“It’s great to see everyone out here,” Putt-Putt Fun Center co-owner Dan Estes said Tuesday. “We get kids out here that have never played before and it’s always good to see the children out here.
“This is one of our bigger days of the year. At about 9 o’clock this morning, we had over 120 people playing on the course.”
With nine age divisions, including a championship, and trophies for each, a multitude of players ranging from novice to professional take to the course.
Most of the players throughout the first part of Tuesday were kids under the age of 12.
“Once we opened up the tournament at about 8:50 a.m., there was a flood of people that came in,” Estes noted. “There seems to be another wave every 10 minutes, but that’s the way we like it.”
Estes estimated that more than 1,500 patrons could pay a visit and play a round over the course of the day.
Each tournament runs throughout the day, starting at 9 a.m. and going until 6 p.m. The person with the best score at the end of the day wins a trophy — and bragging rights for the year.
There were great putts made all over the course and joyous celebrations when a hole-in-one was achieved. There were also a few groans following missed easy putts among a group of friends or family.
Another year of terrific fun for the whole family was had in one of Fun Fest’s marquee events.
