The boys semifinal between Abingdon and Union was quite exciting, with the Bears coming out on top 5-4.
The boys match made it through three matches before the rain set in and play was moved to John Battle High School to continue on dry courts.

The Falcons did not even need to play the doubles matches in order to clinch.
Gate City has beaten the Falcons once this year. The championships will take place at Emory & Henry again.

The Bears went up quickly 3-1 on the Falcons with two singles matches to be finished. The downpour then came in a hurry at Emory and the teams retreated to the buses.
After about 30 minutes, the teams decided to move the remainder of the match to John Battle in hopes of playing on dry courts.
Justin Falin lost a tough, three-set match on the tiebreaker that would have clinched it for the Bears in the singles, but he ultimately came up short. His score was 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) in a match that lasted nearly three hours, counting travel time.
The Falcons rallied to tie Union at three matches apiece and forced an exciting sequence of doubles.
Union was able to pull out the close victory, 5-4 and advance to play John Battle today at Battle for the conference team title.
Battle won both matchups on the season, sweeping the Bears each time.
