From staff reports • May 12, 2018 at 2:05 AM

GREENEVILLE — The Sullivan North boys tennis team, which earned its first conference crown in more than a decade earlier this season, continued to make history by capturing the Region 1-A/AA title with a 4-3 victory over South Greene on Friday.

Three of Friday’s seven matches went three sets and the Golden Raiders took all three. Adam Nelson and Trey Williams each came up with wins in singles and pulled out a big victory in the three-set match for the doubles triumph.

“I am extremely proud of the way we fought,” North coach Bryan Upshaw said. “Winning three out of three three-set matches takes a lot of heart.”

North will travel to Knoxville next Friday for the sectional round.
