LPR to celebrate Labor Day weekend Saturday

COEBURN — Lonesome Pine Raceway is set to celebrate the unofficial end to summer this Saturday, Sept. 5 with a full night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing.

The second-to-last race of the season will be highlighted by the Late Model Stock Car division. Modified Street, Pure 4, Mod 4, Rookie Pure 4 and Pure Street divisions will also be in action for Pepsi of Norton Night at The Pine.

Wayne Hale (LMSC), Jared Broadbent (Modified Street), Dan Hall (Pure 4), Rocky Yates (Mod 4), William Hale (Rookie Pure 4) and Nasty Jones (Pure Street) currently sit atop the championship standings. And with only two races remaining, all of the championships are still up for grabs.

Grandstands open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, with racing at 7 p.m. Adult admission is $10 and children 12-and-under are admitted free.
