Unfortunately for the Eagles, all the points Uriah heaped on Eastside were more than covered by the Spartans’ Ryan Milgrim and Derrick Cusano.
Eastside’s dynamic duo combined for 44 points and the Spartans remained atop the Cumberland District standings with a 75-50 win at Rye Cove.
The Spartans (15-5, 9-1) fell behind 12-6 early after Addison scored nine of his 12 first-quarter points over the first 3½ minutes.
Milgrim and Cusano figured in the Eastside comeback surge that put the green team up 21-15 at the end of the first quarter and in the driver’s seat for the duration.
The Eagles (3-16, 2-7) cut the lead to four on an Addison bucket with 4:15 left in the second quarter only to fall back 36-27 at the half.
Austin Buchanan had 11 points for the Spartans. Justin Banks distributed eight assists filling in for ailing Matt Green at the point. Wes Yeary led Eastside on the boards with nine rebounds. Tim Counts had six.
In the girls’ game, Eastside outscored the Lady Eagles 14-1 in the first quarter and never looked behind, going on to a 66-30 victory.
Erin Stanley scored 14 points for the Lady Spartans (11-9, 8-2). Lindsay Dean put up 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kaylee Jones added 11 points and Deja Stallard hauled in seven boards.
Fiery Lucindy Lawson led the Lady Eagles (3-16, 2-7), scoring 15 points.
