Eastman Road Race 10K practice run set

Staff Reports • Aug 26, 2013 at 2:42 PM

The best way for a runner to familiarize him or herself with the Eastman Road Race course is to run it.

Fortunately, area runners won’t have to wait until race day to get a feel for it.

A free 10K Practice Run will be held on Saturday Aug. 31, starting at the Eastman Employee Center on Wilcox Drive.

Runners should meet at 7:15 a.m. to await instructions, with groups leaving out around 7:30 a.m.

Bicycle escorts will accompany the runners but the roads will be open to traffic during the practice run. Runners will need to remain careful & alert at all times. For this reason race organizers strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course.

Water will be provided near the halfway point and at the finish line.
