Scott, the last driver to qualify for Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race, was second quickest on his first lap and looked determined to get a little bit more the second time around. But Scott got his No. 2 machine too high heading into the first turn and scraped the wall between turns 1 and 2.
The pole was the 32nd of Busch’s Nationwide career and his sixth this season. So far in 2013, Busch has gone on to win every race in which he has qualified first.
Ty Dillon qualified third. Justin Allgaier and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five.
