Kingsport's Tony Green finishes tied for 49th at British Senior Amateur

ABERDEEN, Scotland — Kingsport’s Tony Green completed play Friday in the British Senior Amateur at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club tied for 49th.

Green had rounds of 82-73-79 for a three-day total of 234.

His second round included a stretch during which he had a birdie, eagle, birdie and a hole-in-one. Green was informed that his ace was the first ever in tournament competition at Royal Aberdeen.

After returning to the United States, Green will travel to the Homestead in Hot Springs, Va., on Monday to attempt to qualify for the USGA Senior Amateur.

Two years ago, Green advanced to the Round of 16 in the U.S. Senior Amateur in Richmond, Va.
