K-Mets stop skid with 7-4 win over M's

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Mets scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and went on to beat visiting Pulaski 7-4 on Wednesday in an Appalachian League matchup at Hunter Wright Stadium.

The K-Mets snapped a four-game losing streak.

Designated hitter Jonathan Leroux had a solo home run for Kingsport (26-19) in the fourth. First baseman Pedro Perez added a solo shot in the sixth.

Jeyckol De Leon, Jeff Diehl and Amed Rosario had two hits apiece for the K-Mets. Rosario had two RBIs.

Yoan Gonzalez (3-3) picked up the win, going six innings. He scattered seven hits, allowed two runs and struck out seven.

Robert Coles earned his fifth save after coming on in relief in the ninth and striking out one.

Jesus Ugueto led the Mariners (30-16) with three hits and two RBIs.

Noel De La Cruz (3-3) was tagged with the loss. He pitched three innings and gave up three earned runs.

Kingsport hosts Pulaski Thursday at 7 p.m.
