BRISTOL, Va. — The Kingsport Mets continued their divisional climb Friday evening with a 7-0 win over the Bristol White Sox.

The Mets now have won 12 of their last 14 games and sit second in the Appalachian League’s Western Division.

Kingsport got first-inning singles from Jeff McNeil and Joe Tuschak then got some help from the Sox in the form of two throwing errors. McNeil and Tuschak were both able to score and give the K-Mets an early 2-0 lead.

Kingsport added four more runs in the third inning, highlighted by Amed Rosario’s three-run home run. Tuschak rounded out the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth.

The home runs were the third of the season for both Rosario and Tuschak.

Yoan Gonzalez picked up the win, going seven innings and allowing three hits.

The Mets pick up a half-game on league-leading Greeneville. The Astros, on a 13-game winning streak, had their game with Pulaski suspended Friday by rain.

Earlier Friday, the Mets traded Kingsport pitcher Andres Perez to the Los Angeles Angels for an international signing bonus allotment slot. Perez (0-1) had a 5.52 ERA in seven appearances, including one start, for Kingsport. The 22-year-old Venezuelan struck out 11 and walked five over 14 2-3 innings.

The K-Mets’ three-game series with Bristol continues Saturday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
