ETSU's Freeman named to Cape Cod League All-Star team

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. — East Tennessee State rising senior Clinton Freeman was named to the Cape Cod League All-Star team on Saturday.

Playing for the Bourne Braves, Freeman, an outfielder and left-handed pitcher, hit .321 with five doubles, 10 runs scored and 13 RBIs.

Freeman is tied for the league lead in doubles, second in hits and RBIs, third in batting average and sixth in runs scored.

The Jonesborough native who played at David Crockett in high school, has hit safely in 15 of his last 17 games and 20 of his 27 games this season. He had a 5-for-5 effort earlier this season and has registered nine multi-hit games.

In two appearances on the mound, Freeman has struck out four batters in two innings of work.
