Church Hill Falcons runners up in USSSA World Series

The Church Hill Falcons 9-Under baseball team posted a runner up finish in this past weekend’s USSSA World Series tournament held at Domtar Park in Kingsport.

The Falcons, who were comprised of nine regular Church Hill players and two additional players from the Kingsport Indians, posted a 4-2 record during the tournament.

The Falcons’ only loss of the tournament was to the eventual champion West Tennessee Cobras from Memphis.

The Falcons lost 6-5 to the Cobras in bracket play. The local team fought its way out of the loser’s bracket to once again face the Cobras in the finals, losing 9-2.

The Falcons’ pitching rotation for the tournament included Brody Cloud, Garrison Barrett, Ryan Jessee and Jett Wallen. Brody Cloud was named the Falcons’ offensive MVP.
