East softball runner-up in Tiny Day Classic

GREENEVILLE — Sullivan East made it to the championship game of the Tiny Day Classic softball tournament Sunday before falling to host Greeneville 6-0. The Lady Patriots beat West Greene 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Elizabethton 5-1 in the semis. In the championship game, East’s Brittany Scott got the only hit off Lady Greene Devils pitcher Jordan Fortel. Scott had five hits on the day, Brooke McElyea homered, and Madeline Standbridge and Courtney Leonard picked up wins inside the circle for East (15-12).
