Five divisions in action for Ken Wilson Ford Night at Kingsport Speedway

KINGSPORT — Five divisions are in action for Ken Wilson Ford Night at the Races at Kingsport Speedway.

Friday night's slate includes the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Dalton Direct Carpets Late Model Stock (60 laps), Street Stock (30 laps), Pure 4 (25 laps), Legends (15 laps) and Rookie Pure 4 (15 laps) divisions.

Knoxville driver Chad Finchum (133 points) holds a slim lead over Daniel Pope II (129) of Smyrna in the Late Model Stock standings. Johnson City's Zeke Shell and Claypool Hill, Va's Kres VanDyke are tied for third with 123 points.

Entering this week's events, Castlewood's Rob Austin (144 points) and Bristol's Nick Cole (143) are the leading drivers in Street Stock; Kingsport's John Ketron and his son, Jason Ketron, lead the Pure 4 standings, both with 144 points; Kingsport's Billy Byington is tops in Pure 4 with 145 points, four more than Johnson City's Brandon Sutherland; and Bean Station's Jacob Owens (117 points) is the Legends division leader over second-place Derek Lane (113) of Kingsport.

The pit gate opens Friday at noon. The grandstands and tier-parking gates open at 5:45 p.m. Practice is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., followed by qualifying at 7. The green flag falls at 8:05 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission $10, with kids under 12 admitted free.
