Tennessee hunters harvest 2,700 turkeys

Chuck Yoest, big game coordinator for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Wildlife Division, said about 2,700 turkeys were killed in Tennessee during the fall season. The harvest numbers were almost identical to last year’s mark. This year's season ran from Oct. 13-26.Yoest reported the numbers during a meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission. In angling news, the TWRA began stocking rainbow trout into select fisheries around the state last week. By the time the TWRA is finished, it will have released 90,000 trout.For a list of the stocking sites, click here.
